FOOD ORDERING

From 0 to 1: designing the beverage ordering experience for Fuji Fresh Tea

OVERVIEW

Company Information

Fuji Inc owns Fuji, a popular boba tea shop chain in Bay Area. Fuji was rebranded to Zero& in 2021 and now has 15 stores in California.

Project Summary

I designed the app from scratch, enabling customers to conveniently order ahead and bypass the typical 2-hour wait.

Team Members

The tech lead, two freelance visual designers, and an outsourced developer team.

When Fuji launched its first pop-up store in 2020, customers faced a two-hour wait to receive their drinks after ordering in store, leading to significant frustration.

CUSTOMER PROBLEM

BUSINESS GOAL

Create an ordering app that allows customers to order ahead and fosters brand loyalty.

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

Since I am designing the app from scratch, establishing an information architecture is crucial to defining the mobile application's basic features.

KEY USER FLOWS

  1. Choose a pickup location

  2. Browse menu and add items to cart

  3. Checkout flow

  4. Check order status
